FILM AND ARCHITECTURE return to 443/646 'How Uncanny'

THE HAUNTED AND THE UNHOMELY

The haunted and unhomely appears to us in older places that have been abandoned for some time and newer sterile places. There is either a history or lack of history there which makes us curious but we fear what we might find. These places are either dark, dilapidated and full of mystery or very clean, bright and mechanic. The films previously discussed all contribute to the uncanny by having haunting architecture that feels unhomely to the characters and viewers.
